For anyone who wants to experience breathing underwater, moving almost weightlessly and discovering the underwater world from a completely new perspective. No previous diving experience or existing diving certification is required.

Course details
Program goal
You become familiar with scuba equipment at your own pace, experience breathing underwater and gain your first practical experience in the pool.
Format
You begin with a detailed briefing on equipment, communication and essential safety procedures. You then become familiar with the scuba equipment step by step and complete your first exercises in the water with personal guidance.
Prerequisites
The minimum age is twelve. Basic swimming skills and either a completed medical self-declaration or a valid medical fitness-to-dive certificate are required. Minors need the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
E-learning
No independent e-learning is required before the session. All essential foundations are explained clearly during the briefing.
Location and date

Included
A detailed briefing, introduction to the scuba equipment used, personal guidance and one practical pool session.
Good to know
SSI Try Scuba is a supervised entry program. It does not include a complete diving course, open-water dives or an independent diving certification.

SSI Course

SSI Referral Diver (Beginner Course)

For anyone who wants to begin their diving education in a structured way and complete the theory and pool training in Germany. The final open-water training dives can then be completed at an SSI Training Center at the destination of your choice.

Course details
Course goal
You develop the theoretical understanding and practical skills needed for your later open-water training dives. The focus is on handling equipment safely, following controlled procedures and acting with increasing independence underwater.
Format
Before the course begins, you complete the SSI e-learning independently. This is followed by coordinated pool sessions in which the required skills are explained, demonstrated and practised step by step.
Pool training
You begin by learning about the equipment, essential procedures and safe behaviour underwater. The following sessions build on this foundation and develop buoyancy, movement, safety skills and working together with a dive buddy.
Prerequisites
The minimum age is twelve. Basic swimming skills and either a completed medical self-declaration or a valid medical fitness-to-dive certificate are required. Minors need the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
E-learning
SSI e-learning is a mandatory part of the course and must be completed in full before the first pool session.

All mandatory course dates, meeting points and locations are shown together in the booking section.
Optional additional date
A fourth date is also shown as an optional additional session. It may be used at no extra charge if course progress requires another session to achieve SSI Referral Diver certification. This additional date is not part of the binding booked sessions and does not create an entitlement to it taking place. Please keep it available as a precaution.

Not included
The subsequent open-water training dives, possible travel or admission costs and the later SSI Open Water Diver certification are not included in the course fee.
Next step
After certification as an SSI Referral Diver, you receive the required training records. You can then continue your open-water training at an SSI Training Center and complete the SSI Open Water Diver there.

SSI Enriched Air Nitrox 40

For certified divers who want to use Nitrox safely and responsibly. A Nitrox certification is practically essential for many liveaboards. Nitrox can also be useful on a traditional diving holiday, especially when several dives per day are planned.

Course details
Course goal
You learn to use breathing gases with an oxygen content of up to 40 percent safely. You understand not only the benefits of Nitrox but also its limits and the specific requirements for planning and conducting your dives.
What you learn
You learn about oxygen content, nitrogen exposure, maximum operating depth, oxygen exposure limits and the correct settings for your dive computer. You also learn how to analyse and label a Nitrox cylinder and document the measured values correctly.
Format
Before the classroom session, you complete the SSI e-learning independently. During the session in Frankfurt, we deepen the theory, apply it to realistic dive profiles and practise the safe use of gas analysis.
Prerequisites
The minimum age is twelve and an existing diving certification is required. Minors need the consent of a parent or legal guardian. The course takes place entirely on land and does not include any in-water exercises.
E-learning
SSI e-learning is a mandatory part of the course and must be completed in full before the classroom session.
Location and course time
The classroom course takes place in Frankfurt am Main. The specific date, course time and meeting point are shown in the booking section. For 2026, the scheduled course time is 18:30 to 22:00.

Not included
Nitrox fills, dives and any personal equipment that may be required are not included in the course fee.
Next step

SSI Deep Diving

For certified divers who want to experience greater depths safely and in control or prepare specifically for a liveaboard. The course provides a solid foundation for deeper reefs, walls and more demanding dive profiles.

Course details
Course goal
You develop the knowledge and practical skills to plan dives at depths between 18 and 40 metres safely and conduct them in a controlled way within the limits of your training.
What you learn
You learn about dive planning, gas management, nitrogen narcosis, changing environmental conditions and the specific demands of greater depth. In the water, you practise controlled descents and ascents, stable buoyancy and calm, coordinated action with your dive buddy.
Format
After the SSI e-learning, four training dives take place over two diving days. Theory, dive planning, briefings and debriefings are connected directly with the practical training.
Prerequisites
The minimum age is 15. A valid Open Water Diver certification or equivalent certification and either a completed medical self-declaration or a valid medical fitness-to-dive certificate are required. Minors need the consent of a parent or legal guardian. SSI e-learning must be completed in full before the first diving day.
Location and training conditions
The course takes place exclusively at Deepspot in Poland or Y-40 in Italy. The comfortably tempered water makes it possible to focus on depth without cold water as an additional stress factor. At least one training dive to 30 metres or deeper is planned, provided the participant's training level, comfort and the safety conditions allow it. The specific venue, binding travel dates, meeting points, course times and additional costs are shown for each session.
Included
The SSI training kit including e-learning, personal guidance, dive planning, briefings and debriefings as well as four training dives over two diving days. SSI Deep Diving certification is included after successful completion of all required course components.
Not included
Admission, travel to and from the venue, accommodation, meals and other costs incurred locally are not included in the course fee. The specific additional costs are shown before the respective session is booked.
